At least ten officers of the defunct NIA have been arrested in connection with the killing of Solo Sandeng, intelligence sources revealed.
Mr. Sandeng, the youth mobiliser of the United Democratic Party (UDP) was alleged to have been murdered in the hands of officials of the defunct NIA following his arrest in April 2016.
His killing had warranted the executive of the UDP to take to the streets in protest of his arrest, resulting to the arrest and prosecution of the party’s leader Ousainou Darboe and others.
One woman who spoke to this paper on the condition of anonymity said her brother has been recently arrested by the officials of the State Intelligence Service (SIS) in connection with the matter.
